According to preliminary reports, the aircraft reportedly carrying Ajit Pawar encountered difficulties while attempting an emergency landing, resulting in a crash in Maharashtra's Baramati. Several occupants sustained injuries and were swiftly transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Baramati airport manager Shivaji Taware told Hindustan Times that the aircraft, VT SSK, was attempting to land and the aircraft went off the side of the runway and exploded on crashing.
The aircraft was a Learjet 45, chartered from Mumbai, officials told HT.
Baramati Airport, previously operated privately, was recently handed over to the Maharashtra Airport Development Company, HT reported.
