SAN FRANCISCO, California, March 10 — Trailing 38-23 more than halfway through the third quarter, the Salesian College Prep [Richmond, CA] Pride was on the ropes hanging on for dear life.
But the Archbishop Riordan [San Francisco, CA] Crusaders couldn't land the knockout punch, and an 8-0 run by the Pride late in the quarter suddenly trimmed Riordan's advantage to just seven points at 38-31.
By the end of the quarter, it was a two-possession game with Salesian trailing 42-36, and suddenly, it was the Pride throwing all the haymakers and landing jabs at the free throw line.
